It is important that clients of Ostrava Equities have a sound understanding of the terms used and concepts involved when trading stocks that are put-option protected, as is the case with our Flexible Investment Facility.
While we are always available to provide clients - existing or potential - with assistance to enable them to comprehend the terminology used, the following is a list of frequently used terms that may be helpful.
How much does it cost ?
There is no charge to set up for Ostrava clients.
Is there a minimum account size ?
There is no minimum account size to start a SMSF.
How do I transfer my existing super ?
This is called a rollover and we will organize this when we set up your fund. You can consolidate all your super into one a/c being your SMSF.
Can my employer pay my super contributions into my SMSF ?
In almost all cases your employer will direct your super to any complying superannuation fund you nominate.
I am retired, how do I obtain an income from my super ?
We will determine which income stream (e.g. TTR, allocated) is right for you and advise accordingly. Once the SMSF is established and rollover complete, a direct debit is generally set up between the super fund CMT and your personal nominated bank account.
Does Ostrava maintain the books and records ?
Ostrava administers the fund and maintains full books and records of the fund for a period of seven years.
How do I keep updated ?
You can login via secure server to your portfolio 24/7 via the internet and view your portfolio, cash ledger and transactions.
Can I talk to you on an on-going basis about my situation and affairs ?
You can discuss your position at any time with Ostrava. All discussions are in the strictest confidence and your personal information will not be passed on to a third party.
Are there any tax benefits to SMSF ?
The Commonwealth Government has allowed considerable tax benefits and allowances for contributions to super, funds whilst in the super system and pensions from super funds.
Are the investments held in my name ?
All investments (securities / bank accounts) are held in your name as trustee for your super fund via the ASX CHESS system.
What is CHESS ?
CHESS (Clearing House Electronic Sub-register System) is an ASX computer system that manages the Settlement process. It provides all investors with the security of a central hub that exchanges money and shares at the same time.
